Medical Qi Gong
Ancient Taoist Healing and Movement

What is Medical Qi Gong?

Medical Qi Gong is one of the four main branches of Chinese Medicine, along with acupuncture, herbology and Tuina or medical massage. It is ancient energetic medicine.

The focus of Medical Qi Gong is to reharmonize and balance the bio-energetics of the body. The inbalances of energy or Qi in the body create disharmonies withing the organs and organ systems. These imbalances manifest as painful or uncomfortable sensations and disease states within the organs, tissues and the energetic channels in the body. This is often stemming from physical injury, emotional stress, poor diet, pre-existing disease, old emotional patterns and withholdings, etc. Clearing blockages or deficiancies within these channels can eliminate pain and discomfort also fortifying the bodys systems. Through proper dietary choices and movements, we can strengthen the physical body. Through proper Intention, Attention, Imagination, and Sensation, we can move the Qi and Spirit within the physical body recreating the balanced healed state our body remembers.

How Can Medical Qi Gong Help Me?

The underlying infrastructure of the physical body is Qi or Energy. All physical injury or diseased states either create or are created by Qi blockages or deficiancies. By Building and fortifying the energetics of the body we are essentially giving the physical body a new place to heal and grow from. Because of this dynamic, Medical Qi Gong is extremely effective for patients with chronic and most acute disease states: ie. Cancer, Depression, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue, Stroke & Coma, Bell's Palsy/Paralysis, Stress & Anxiety, Migraines/Headaches, Musculo-Skeletal Pain, Autoimmune Disorders, Gastrointestinal Disorders, Urinary/Kidney Disorders, Gynecological/Prostate Imbalances, Arthritis/Rheumatory Arthritis, Inexplixable Pain/Phantom Pain, Tremors/Parkinson's Disease, Insomnia & Sleep Disorders, And More.

What is Nutritional Therapy?

Out of the many things that we do each day, one of the most influential daily experiences are our eating habits. What we put into our bodies is the first line of medicine. We are what we eat. We can nurture ourselves through meditation and conscious activity. And those that can sustain on just those things are few and far between. For the rest of us, proper eating habits that highlight our bodies natural healing response are the keys to thriving. I am a well experienced chef that has focused on bringing together the culinary arts and the worlds medical traditions to heal. Each ingredient has specific functions and effects the body in different ways. When we align particular ingredients with you and your needed healing state, we can facilitate rapid healing transition. Herbal therapy is one of the main branches of Chinese medicine. This can and does include everything we put in our bodies. If you are feeling sluggish and in need of a recharge, it may be as simple as changing your intake. Call me today to make an appointment.

What Can I Expect From a Treatment?

A treatment usually last a little over an hour depending on the needs of the client. During that hour we will discuss your present state, perform a treatment, and walk you through movements to help cultivate and regulate the changes that just occurred. The treatment happens on a massage table while you are clothed and comfortable. Depending on the specifics of the client a treatment can include: Dietary/Nutritional Counseling, Emotional Counseling, Tuina, Cupping, Moxabustion, Subtle Energetic Movement, and Qi Gong Movements. We will finish a session with the practitioner showing you specific Qi Gong Exercises to practice daily to maintain that balanced state until the healing work is complete.
